The Gwadar Campus of Turbat University, celebrated 1st anniversary of its Foundation in campus seminar hall on January 16, 2018. The chief guest of the ceremony varsity’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir celebrated the day with students and faculty by cutting a cake and prayed for its continued success in future. The distinguished guests Director QEC Prof Dr Gul Hassan, HEC’s Dy Director for Planning and Development Mr. Asim Khanzada, the representatives of Consulting Firm for the establishment of University of Gwadar, chief executive Iqbal P. Sheikh, consultant Mr. Nouman Iqbal and Ms Sumera Islam grace the day by their presence.
Newly enrolled students along with their seniors had entertained the audience by their creative and recreational performances.
Addressing participants, the VC congratulated faculty, students and administration of the campus for various feats achieved by them in one year. He also thanked HEC chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, provincial and federal government and other stakeholders for their support in the development of Turbat University and its sub Campus in Gwadar.
Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir said the celebration of this anniversary was a significant occasion for all stakeholders and for the people of Gwadar in particular.
“We had just started one of the most noteworthy task by setting up a sub campus of Turbat University in Gwadar in same day just one year ago and laid down the foundation of the educational future of the people of Gwadar and region. Today it is the celebration of our commitment and passions for the promotion of higher education in this part of country”, he added.
Vice chancellor urged that it was the high time for the people of Gwadar to take advantage of such opportunities for higher learning at their doorsteps.
He lauded the unparalleled efforts put in by the director campus Ijaz Ahmed and his energetic faculty, non-teaching staff and dedicated students for the development of Gwadar campus which will be converted into a full-fledged University of Gwadar very soon.
