The vice chancellor University of Turbat (UoT) Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir chaired a meeting on E-learning held at UoT’s video conference room on 9th June 2020.
UoT’s Registrar Ghulam Farooq Baloch, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Science Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean Faculty of Legal Education Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Dean Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Hanif Ur Rahman, Controller of Examinations Tanveer Ahmed, Director UoT Gwadar Campus Ijaz Ahmed, Chairman Computer Science Department Mukhtar Hussain, Chairman Law Department Mehmood Ameer, Chairman Education Department Manzoor Ahmed, PSO to VC Engr. Bilal Ur Rahman and heads of relevant departments and sectional heads attended the meeting.
Besides various academic activities in view of COVID-19, the meeting also discussed different issues related to e-learning, examination procedures of spring semester 2020, uploading of lectures and course materials on website and their access to students.
The meeting also brought under consideration the issues related to commencement of fall semester 2020 and mechanisms of assessment in the light of HEC guidelines.
Various decisions were also made in the meeting regarding e-learning keeping in view the facilities available in the region and the challenges faced by the students and faculty members.
The VC apprised the meeting about the progress on technical assistance from IBA Sukkur regarding installation of e-learning and LMS facility on UoT website and training of faculty and other staff.
On this occasion, the vice chancellor said that the education sector, like all walks of life in the world, has been severely affected by the COVID-19 but the timely launch of E-Learning can save the precious time of students to a great extent.
UoT’s registrar Ghulam Farooq Baloch, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean Faculty of Legal Education Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Dean Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Hanif Ur Rahman, Controller of Examinations Tanveer Ahmed, Director Gwadar Campus Ijaz Ahmed and other heads of the department presented various suggestions to save the students' academic year in view of the situation arising out of coronavirus and lockdown.
