UoT’s Sociology Department Welcome program

A colorful function was organized by the senior students of the Sociology Department at the University of Turbat on 21st February 2022. The purpose of the function was to give a warm welcome to the freshers in Sociology Department. The event was decorated with some lively performances like comical sketches, songs, tableau, exciting speeches, poetry, and other creative performances. Senior students and faculty members warmly welcomed the new intake and gave them an overview regarding university life, hostel life, curriculum, curricular and extra-curricular activities, and the semester system.
Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice-Chancellor (VC), University of Turbat (UoT) graced the function as chief guest. Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Social Science and Humanities, Dr. Yaseen Baloch, In-charge Sociology Department, Ijaz Ahmed, Director Public Relations, Chakar Hyder, PSO to Vice-Chancellor, faculty members as well as senior and junior students of the department attended the event wholeheartedly.
Addressing the occasion, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad said “we were born to learn and the university is the most reasonable and highest platform for learning which also gives you an ample opportunity for using your knowledge and skills for the self-development and prosperity of the society. We should not let any element stand in the way of our learning process at university. Despite limited resources, we are striving to provide maximum facilities and opportunities to our students at university for learning and becoming a good human being.”
He assured to continue to provide opportunities and facilities to the students in the form of internship programs, semester exchange programs, scholarship, entrepreneur workshops, laboratories, libraries, exposure visits, and other facilities required for acquiring quality education and research activities.
VC told the students that many expectations of your parents, teachers, and society are attached to you after your joining the university. We are all here to see you leading a successful life after graduating from this institution. These four years of your university life are very important and set the direction of your life.
Appreciating the pivotal role of the Dean, faculty members, and students in the arrangement of such a thrilling event, VC thanked them for putting their precious efforts to make this function memorable and impressive.
In his welcome speech, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor said to the students that they are fortunate that they got the opportunity to acquire quality education under the supervision of highly talented and qualified faculty members at the University of Turbat. He said that such an event not only builds confidence but also enhances the inspiration and creativity of the students.
In his speech, Dr. Yaseen Baloch highlighted the significance and marketability of the program BS (Sociology) at the national and international levels.
