The UoT clinched the title of HEC Zone One University Cricket Championship 2022

The University of Turbat (UoT) has won the final match of HEC Zone One University Cricket Championship 2022 and became the Champion.

The final match of HEC Zone One University Cricket Championship 2022 was played at the cricket ground of Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Khuzdar on 4th of March, 2022, in which the UoT’s team has beaten the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water, and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), Uthal by two wickets.

The LUAWMS team won the toss, elected to bat first, and managed 119 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs in the final fixture of the Championship. The Turbat University’s captain Suhail Shoaib took three wickets, Abdul Wasi two and Bizen one wicket in the match.

In reply, The UoT’s team achieved the target in the 20th over for the loss of eight wickets. The UoT’s batsman Talha and Yaseen Wahid with 23 runs each while Waseem and Captain Suhail Shoaib with 21 and 19 runs respectively have played an important role in taking their team to the victory mark.  

Captain Suhail Shoaib from UoT’s team clinched the man of the match title for scoring 19 runs and sending three batsmen of LUAWMS team to the pavilion.

Dr. Ehsanullah Kakar, Vice-Chancellor, BUET, Khuzdar distributed trophies to the winner and runners-up captain and prizes amongst the players.

Prof. Dr. Jan Mohammad, Vice-Chancellor, University of Turbat, and Dr. Mansoor Ahmad, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of Turbat have congratulated the cricket team of the Turbat University for winning the final match of the HEC Zone One University Cricket Championship 2022. They said that the team has played with excellence in all departments of the match including batting, bowling, and fielding which enabled them to achieve the great success which is commendable. The UoT’s Registrar, Deans, Directors, Heads of Academics and Administrative Departments, Faculty Members, Administrative Officers, and students through Twitter and social media messages congratulated their team on this remarkable victory and lauded the performance of the team as well.
