Lecture session held in Sociology Department of Turbat University

A lecture session on “Importance of culture and regional culture with sociological perspectives” was arranged in the Department of Sociology, the University of Turbat on the 25th of March, 2022. Expressing her views on the occasion, the guest speaker of the session, Dr. Naila Usman Siddiqi, Chairperson, Department of Sociology, University of Karachi said that culture is the way of living, norms, values, folkways, and mores of the people in a society. She emphasized youth and faculty members for conducting social research in the domains of regional culture.
The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean of Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities. He warmly welcomed and thanked the guest speaker of the session, Dr. Naila Usman Siddiqi for visiting the University of Turbat and delivering a lecture in the Department of Sociology.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Yaseen Chairperson, Department of Sociology, and lecturer Nadil Shah said that the purpose of such lecture sessions is to enhance the knowledge of the students by giving them an exposure to interact with other renowned sociologists of the country. The session was attended by the students and faculty members of the Sociology Department. The guest speaker also answered the questions raised by the participants on prevailing social issues and other challenges faced by regional culture.
