Governor Balochistan/Chancellor UoT Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has said that the world is rapidly changing which requires us to frame a comprehensive strategy for achieving new priorities and new goals and in this regard, higher education is at the top among new priorities. Governor Yasinzai said that we desperately need people with relevant vision and wisdom to adapt modern requirements and to formulate and implement pro-people policies.
He expressed these views while presiding over the Sixth Meeting of the Senate of the University of Turbat on 17/03/2021 in Governor Secretariat Quetta.
Among the names selected on the recommendations of the Senate search committee, the Governor of Balochistan appointed Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat.
The Sixth Meeting of the UoT’s Senate was attended by the UoT’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, VC Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water, and Marine Sciences (LUAMS) Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Baloch, Secretary Higher Education Gov’t of Balochistan Hashim Khan Gilzai, Secretary Finance Pasand Khan Buledi, Principal Secretary to Governor Shahnawaz Ali, BUITEMS Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Faisal Kakar, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor, UoT’s Registrar Ghulam Farooq, Dr. Adeel Ahmed, Ex. Director Health Turbat Dr. Taj Baloch, Ex. Principal Makran Medical College Dr. Niamatullah Gichki, UoT’s faculty members Ruqia Mirwani and other members of the Senate.
Appreciating the tireless efforts of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, and his entire team, Governor Yasinzai said that with eight years of continuous efforts and full devotion of VC and his team, the University of Turbat has been on the path towards success.
It is imperative that we should play our role in its further development and improvement. “Credit certainly goes to Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and his entire team for bringing Turbat University to an important position in such a short period of time under very difficult circumstances and limited resources.
Many important decisions were taken as a result of the recommendations and suggestions of the participants of the august house of the University.
