Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad assumed the charge as Vice Chancellor of UoT

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Turbat (UoT) Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad assumed the charge and started working as Vice Chancellor of UoT. 

Among the names selected on the recommendations of the UoT’s Senate, the Governor of Balochistan has appointed Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat on 17th March 2021 and he assumed the charge as the second Vice Chancellor of UoT on 24th March. 2021.

His professional experience spans upon more than 24 years in a diverse range of fields. Dr. Jan Muhammad who enjoys high-profile academic background who graduated from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi in the field of Computer Engineering and also earned a doctorate (PhD) from University of Glasgow, United Kingdom in the field of Computing Science.

He is an experienced educationist who served as Professor of Computer Engineering and worked as Dean Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities in Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Quetta.  

He has vast experience of teaching and research as a Professor in BUITEMS, worked as System Analyst/Network Administrator in IUCN, and Network Administrator & Customer Support Intern in Sustainable Development Networking Program (SDNP) in UNDP. Besides, publishing a number of research papers in national and international journals, he has also attended many national and international conferences. He also completed many research projects in the field of Computer and Information Technology in collaboration with national and international research institutes.  

Dr. Jan Muhammad possesses the official membership of IEEE Computer Society Pakistan Engineering Council. 

He has been associated with the Melbourne e-Research Group, University of Melbourne, Australia, School of Computer Science & Informatics, University of Cardiff, United Kingdom, Center for Parallel Computing, University of Westminster, United Kingdom, United State-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W), MUET Jamshoro and School of Systems and Technology, University of Management & Technology, Lahore for international and national research collaboration.
