Workshop on “Developing Writing & Research Skills” in UoT’s Gwadar Campus

The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), in collaboration with Gwadar Campus of University of Turbat (UoT), organized a One Day Workshop on “Developing Writing & Research Skills” at UoT’s Gwadar Campus on 30th September 2021.

Assistant Professor and Director ORIC, Dr. Ghulam Jan was the Resource Person and Keynote speaker while Mr. Sagheer Nasim Lecturer Department of Management Sciences UoT’s Gwadar Campus was the coordinator of the workshop.

The objective of the workshop was to interact with the senior students of Gwadar Campus for inclining them towards research activities and refining their academic writing skills.

Underlining the importance of research activities for university students, Dr. Ghulam said that it was the era of research and technology and we can discover new knowledge, ideas, and solution to prevailing challenges by conduction research in line with modern scientific requirements. He said that the world was moving forward rapidly and without fostering research culture we cannot compete with the rest of the world. Under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, a comprehensive plan has been started to promote research activities in the University of Turbat and its sub-campuses.

In the end, students asked many questions regarding research and its various techniques which were academically and professionally responded to by the Resource Person.

Dr. Ghulam Jan appreciated the inclination of the students of Gwadar Campus towards conducting research on various prevailing challenges.  Campus Director Ijaz Ahmed, faculty members, and students attended the workshop.

Earlier, an interactive session was also held between Dr. Ghulam Jan and faculty members in the library where they discussed various opportunities for higher and advanced studies, research methodology, and challenges being faced by them during securing admission and conducting research.
