A Two Day’s Training Program on EPPS held in Turbat University

The Balochistan Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (BPPRA), in collaboration with the University of Turbat (UoT) organized a two day’s capacity-building training program on “Electronic Public Procurement System (EPPS)” on 21st and 22nd March 2022 at UoT. The closing session of the training program was jointly chaired by Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice-Chancellor, UoT, and Mr. Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Managing Director, BPPRA. As many as fifty officers from different departments and institutes of Mekran Division, including officers from Turbat University participated in the training program.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC UoT Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad thanked BPPRA for conducting capacity building training program on EPPS at UoT. He appreciated the efforts of the Balochistan Government for taking the lead in the country by becoming the first province to implement an international standard Electronic Bidding System.
Addressing during the closing session of the training program, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, MD, BPPRA said that this training program was aimed at capacity building of DDOs and other government officers of Mekran Division. He said that the government of Balochistan amended BPPRA Act in the first quarter of 2022 and incorporated EPPS for binding the Procuring Agencies to electronically receive bids for all procurements. It will improve the procurement governance in the province by establishing a transparent and cost-effective public procurement system ensuring transparency, accountability, and quality in all public procurements.
In the end, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Ganguzar Baloch, Registrar, and Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Managing Director, BPPRA distributed shields and certificates among the organizers, resource persons, and participants of the training program.
Engr. Muhammad Laique Tariq, Procurement Specialist (Works), Mubashir Ali, Procurement Specialist (Goods & Services), Abdul Hameed Buzdar, Director, Capacity Building, Jahanzeb Malik, Director, Monitoring and Evaluation and Ghulam Jan Naseer, Director MIS were the resource persons of the training program.
