Turbat University’s Commerce Department Approves New Programs, Aligned with Market and Technological Trends

Department of Commerce, University of Turbat (UoT) convened its 5th Board of Studies meeting on November 13, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mushtaq Muhammad Badini, Chairperson Commerce Department.

The meeting thoroughly deliberated and resolved key matters, including the approval of the MS Commerce program and its objectives, the alignment of the BS Commerce program with HEC’s newly revised curriculum for Commerce studies, the approval of a new specialization in BS E-Commerce, and the approval of three new Associate Degree Programs, including AD Commerce, AD Accounting and Finance, and AD Islamic Banking.
According to the university spokesperson, Dr. Sheikh Usman Yousuf, Associate Professor at Hailey College of Commerce, University of the Punjab, and Dr. Hussain Bakhsh Magsi, Director General NAVTTC, participated in the meeting via video link as external members.

Members from affiliated colleges, including Mr. Abdul Samad, Lecturer at Govt Atta Shad Degree College, and Ms. Faiza Aziz, Lecturer at Govt Girls Degree College Turbat, along with UoT faculty members, including Dr. Abdul Majid Nasir, Mr. Rehmat Ullah, and Mr. Riaz Ahmed, also participated in the discussions.
According to the University spokesperson, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, the University of Turbat is committed to revising and updating the curriculum of each program from time to time to align with market demands, as well as the rapidly evolving advancements in artificial intelligence and emerging technological trends, ensuring that students remain well-equipped with relevant digital skills and cutting-edge technological knowledge.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chairperson.
