Turbat University ASRB Reviews Graduate Research Progress in the 24th Meeting

The 24th meeting of the Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) of the University of Turbat (UoT) was held on March 5, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan.
During the meeting, the Board reviewed and resolved various academic matters, including synopsis defenses, thesis submissions, evaluation reports, viva voce reports of different graduate programs, confirmation of admissions for the academic year 2026, and other agendas related to advanced studies. The discussions focused on maintaining high research standards, strengthening compliance with HEC guidelines, and promoting innovation-driven and impactful research across the University.
Addressing the meeting, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, appreciated the active participation and valuable contributions of the members. He emphasized that the University is committed to convening meetings of its statutory bodies in a timely manner so that scholars and academic as well as administrative processes do not face unnecessary delays or disruptions. He remarked that the purpose of higher education is not merely the awarding of degrees, but the generation of new knowledge that contributes to the betterment of society. He further said that it is the responsibility of the University to provide researchers with a conducive academic environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
Members of the Board presented constructive suggestions for further strengthening thesis evaluation mechanisms, enhancing faculty–student research collaboration, and aligning the University’s research priorities with national development goals.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor (TI), Dean, Faculty of Literature and Languages; Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Muzaffir Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Law, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Registrar Ganguzar Baloch, Dr. Waseem Barkat, Director, Graduate Studies Office, Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell, Dr. Muhammad Yaseen, Director, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization, the Principal of Government Shaheed Ayoub Buledi College, Turbat, along with senior faculty members.
