Turbat University hold its 8th meeting of ASRB

University of Turbat (UoT) held its 8th meeting of Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) in the meeting room of the university’s main campus on 17th July 2019. The varsity’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir chaired the meeting. Registrar Ghulam Farooq, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Director Institute of Balochi Language and Culture (IBLC) Prof. Dr Abdul Saboor, Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) and Dean Law, Prof. Dr. Gull Hassan, Dean Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Hanif Ur Rahman, Controller of Examination Tanvir Ahmed, and Deputy Registrar Ganguzar Baloch were in attendance. Appreciating the efforts of the heads and faculty members of the IBLC, Department of Chemistry and Management Sciences for launching MS/M.Phil Program successfully, Dr Razzaq Sabir insisted to adopt modern techniques and scientific methods at par with international standard during research and advanced studies in the university. Vice Chancellor assured to provide every possible support and facilities to the research scholars in the university. He said that Turbat University is the one among the successfully fast growing university in the country that started M.Phil/MS programs in three disciplines within five years of its foundation.

The members of the board discussed and resolved various matters related to the promotion of Research activities and Advanced Studies in the University. They vowed to expedite efficient efforts in promotion of quality research and education in Turbat University. The board decided to take comprehensive steps for making it sure that research must be conducted on new and contemporary topics which can be beneficial for society and national development by using modern tools and techniques of the research. The board resolved the matter related to the criteria for admission in MS program in Management Sciences department, new and old M.Phil admission in IBLC and MS in chemistry department.

The Board decided that the M.Phil students of IBLC and Chemistry department who have submitted their theses, their viva voce would be conducted soon after their thesis evaluated by experts. The Board also decided that UoT criteria and HEC guidelines would be strictly observed during admission process in MS/M.Phil. program in the university.
