BS Botany students of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences, University of Turbat, visited Tufail's Agricultural Farm in Jusak, Turbat, on October 28, 2026, gaining first-hand experience of plant diseases in a real farming environment. The farm grows a variety of fruit trees and agricultural crops.
Led by Department Head Dr. Irshad Mayar and course instructor Ms. Mahnaz Kareem, the students closely examined and diagnosed plants affected by bacterial and viral infections. They collected diseased branch, soil, and root samples for further laboratory investigation. The findings of the investigation will be shared with local farmers.

According to the university spokesperson, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan commended the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences for connecting students with real-world practical experience. He said such visits give students hands-on experience and help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application in agriculture, in line with the university’s Strategic Plan 2026-2030. At the end of the visit, Dr. Irshad Mayar thanked farm owner Prof. Tufail for facilitating the visit.
