CM Balochistan inaugurates Panjgur Campus

Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Mir Kamal Khan has inaugurated the newly established Sub Campus of the University of Turbat at Panjgur on 8th October 2020. The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Vice Chancellor University of Turbat Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Mir Asadullah Baloch, Provincial Minister Arif Jan Muhammad Hasani, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, legislatures of Balochistan Assembly Lala Rasheed, Mahjabeen Sheran, UoT’s Registrar Ghulam Farooq Baloch, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor, Dean Faculty of Legal Education and Coordinator Panjgur Campus Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Controller Examinations Tanveer Ahmed, Additional Secretary Higher Education Balochistan Hameedullah Nasar, Commissioner Mekuran Division Tariq Qamar Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Panjgur Abdul Razzaq Sasoli, Government Officials and notables of the area.
On his arrival at Panjgur Campus of Turbat University, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir along with teachers and administrative officers gave a warm welcome to the Chief Minister.
While addressing on the occasion, CM Balochistan Jam Mir Kamal Khan said that his government was determined for the promotion of higher education in Balochistan therefore billions of rupees have been allocated for student scholarships and funding to the campus will be increased substantially. He added that when we came into power two years back, the total amount allocated by the Balochistan government for higher education was Rs. 50 crore but now we have increased the amount to Rs 200 crore.
Jam Kamal Khan said that the process of progress of education which was started in Turbat a few years back now is being extended to the rest of Balochistan and today I am very happy to see the progress started in the field of education in Turbat for the last few years that is now being repeated successfully in Panjgur too. He said that “people of Panjgur were committed to acquiring higher education and this made me glad to see that the Panjgur Campus of Turbat University has made an excellent start, with nearly 400 students enrolled in the 1st semester. Even after three or four years, the number of students in some universities was not as high as it is today in the first session of Panjgur Campus, which shows the deep attachment of the people of Panjgur with education.” He said that more educational institutions will be established in all corners of Balochistan in five years. He said before the Panjgur campus, the youth of Panjgur had to go to Quetta, Khuzdar, and other cities for acquiring higher education but his government made the facility of higher education at the doorsteps of the people of the Panjgur.
He congratulated the Vice Chancellor University of Turbat Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and the Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Mir Asadullah Baloch on the successful start of a university campus at Panjgur. He also reiterated the full support of the Government of Balochistan for the development of Higher Education in Balochistan. The Chief Minister also inspected the classrooms of the campus and inquired about the problems faced by the students and faculty.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor, Turbat University, said that a new era has begun by establishing the sub-campus of Turbat University at Panjgur which will accelerate the journey of promoting higher education and development activities underway in Balochistan. He said that a large number of student’s enrollment on the campus in the first academic session is a testament that the people of Panjgur are keen on education. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir said that Turbat University has accomplished many achievements in a short span of time, and the commencement of the Panjgur Campus is another milestone achieved by Turbat University. Due to these considerable achievements, the University of Turbat had earned a distinguished place in the list of best-growing universities in the country. He said the aim of this institution was to educate and foster the future role players and enabling them to play a vital role in the efforts to bring about development and prosperity in Panjgur, Balochistan, and Pakistan. VC said that the facility of higher education has always been one of the most demanding facilities from the people of Panjgur which now came true in the shape of the Panjgur Campus of Turbat University. He said keeping in view the needs of the time, market-oriented study programs have been started in Panjgur Campus, for which highly qualified academic and administrative staff have been appointed on merit, are now engaged to provide quality education to the students. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir said that he will leave no stone unturned in disseminating quality education in Panjgur Campus to produce a qualified humane resource for ongoing projects of CPEC and increasing economic activities underway in Balochistan. He said that this institution will serve the best interest of the people of the area in the field of higher education that will gain extensively in terms of up-to-date knowledge and sharing of ideas that can positively transform our society and spark innovations. He said that we are highly committed to put our best efforts for channelizing available resources to promote brotherhood, tolerance, intellectual uplift, social change, and a sense of mutual respect among the people through disseminating quality education.
Addressing on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Mir Asadullah Baloch said that it was a great opportunity for the youth of Panjgur to take full advantage of the sub-campus as it is the door of knowledge through which they can secure their future. “Nations that focused on education have become developed and prosperous. He said that Panjgur has been remained very fertile in terms of education and knowledge and I am sure that our youth will continue their eagerness towards acquiring education.”
