Cricket Trial by Peshawar Zalmai held at Turbat and Gwadar

The University of Turbat Gwadar Campus in collaboration with PSL Franchise MG Peshawar Zalmai and District Cricket Association Gwadar organized a one-day Open Trial Cricket Camp at Gwadar.

The trials were held at beautiful Cricket Stadium of Gwadar on 28 th October, 2020 as a part of the events of Paigham-e-Pakistan.

According to the Zalmai’s management, this camp aims to find players for PSL-6 emerging category from these trials. It’s the Peshawar Zalmi's mission to find new talent and give opportunities to young cricketers across the country. Therefore Zalmai arrived in Gwadar and Turbat in search of new talent and encouragement.


Young cricketers from Gwadar and surrounding areas participated in the trials. Mian Abbas and Farooq from Peshawar Zalmi’s management, Iftikhar Ahmed from UoT’s Gwadar campus and Arif Askani from local Cricket Association were also present on the occasion.


Thirteen young cricketers from gross root level on merit were selected in order to introduce new talent at national level.


Director UoT’s Gwadar campus Ijaz Ahmed extended thanks to Zalmai’s management for organizing trial camp and giving opportunity to the students of UoT’s Gwadar campus and local cricketers to showcase their talents in the camp.


In addition to Gwadar, Peshawar Zalmai, on 27 th October, 2020 had also organized Cricket Trail Camp at Cricket Ground of University of Turbat as a part of Paigham-e-Pakistan Program.


Young cricketers aged between 18-25 years from District Turbat and surrounding areas participated in the trial selection camp.


Fifteen cricketers were shortlisted on merit. These youngsters will be trained in the Cricket Academy so that they can display their talents in national level competitions.
The cricket camp at Turbat and Gwadar received massive appreciation from the people of all walks of life.


Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir Vice Chancellor University of Turbat along with Federal Minister Zubaida Jalal and other notables visited the trial camp and appreciated the initiative of Peshawar Zalmai for organizing trial campus at Turbat and Gwadar. VC said that besides academic activities, the University of Turbat is committed in promoting Co-curricular activities in this region in order to attract the youth towards positive and healthy activities.


The management of MG Zalmai camp Mian Abbas, Farooq, UoT’s Director sports Essa Karim, Abdul Waris and local Cricket Organizations were also present on the occasion.
