University of Turbat conducts its first self-Institutional Performance Evaluation

The University of Turbat (UoT) conducted its first self-Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) on May 26-27, 2022. The IPE panel comprised of three external reviewers including Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Director QEC NEDUET, Dr. Muhammad Wasif, Deputy Director QEC NEDUET, Dr. Syed Dara Shikoh Amir, Director QEC BUITEMS, and one internal reviewer, Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Dean, Faculty of Legal Education.
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), in collaboration with all education departments and UoT's administrative units, facilitated the self-assessment process.
The purpose of the assessment was to evaluate the effectiveness of the University's performance based on the 11 benchmarks outlined in HEC's IPE Manual.
Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh convened the review process and it began with an interactive session with Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, followed by a short video documentary showing a brief history of UoT development phase. Subsequently, the University Portfolio Report (UPR) was thoroughly reviewed by the IPE panel with evidence of answers to the questions listed under the 11 Quality Standards.
The second day of the IPE was dedicated to meetings with academic and administrative heads of departments, faculty, and student to review the quality of performance at the University. The panel also visited the campus's libraries, classrooms, and laboratories to observe the facilities available on campus.
The panel members also met with Prof Dr. Jan Muhammad, VC UoT, and shared their recommendations for further strengthening the university's governance, infrastructure, teaching, and learning process. Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Dr. Gul Hasan, Dean, and Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Director, QEC at UoT were also present on the occasion. The Vice-Chancellor presented the commemorative shield of the University to the members of the IPE Panel.
