4th consecutive win of UoT in the All Balochistan Inter-Universities T-10 League 2022

The team UoT with the highest points in pool B has qualified for the second round by beating the Law College Quetta by 51 runs in their fourth match of the All Balochistan Inter-Universities T-10 League 2022 played on 5th August at Bolan Cricket Stadium (BCS) Quetta. This is the 4th consecutive victory of the team UoT in the event. The man of the match Salman Naik’s 53 runs off 26 balls, Sohail Sohaib’s 22 runs of 11 balls, and Yaseen Wahid’s 21 runs off 15 balls took UoT’s total to 112 runs for a loss of 3 wickets. Chasing a target of 113 runs, the Law College Quetta team was restricted to 61 for a loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 10 overs due to the disciplined bowling by the team UoT.  

Earlier, the team UoT played their 3rd match with the Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences (QIMS) team on 4th August and beat the opposition by 30 runs. Batting first, the team UoT scored 110 runs for a loss of 5 wickets in the allotted ten overs. 

Sohail Sohaib and Salman Naik scored 39 and 31 runs respectively. Shamsullah of QIMS got 2 wickets for 15 runs while Khurrum got 1 wicket for 10 runs. Chasing the target of 111 runs, the QIMS team was bowled out for 80 runs within 8.5 overs due to the brilliant bowling by Jalal (2/13), Bezan (2/14), and Sohail Sohaib (2/19).  In this way, the team UoT achieved their third consecutive victory in the event. Sohail Sohaib of the UoT team was declared man of the match for taking two wickets and scoring 39 runs off 19 balls.

Earlier, the team UoT also defeated the BUITEMS Zhob Campus team by 60 runs in their second match of the event on 3rd August. In this match, winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the team UoT made a good total of 118 runs for a loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 10 overs. Abdul Waseh made an explosive 45 runs off 20 balls (not out), while Sohail Sohaib 24, and A. Faraz's 15 runs helped the UoT team to set a defendable target.

Zhob Campus’s Junaid Khan dismissed 2 wickets for 17 runs while Sabir Khan took 1 wicket for 11 in the match.

Some tight bowling by the team UoT restricted the BUITEMS Zhob Campus team to 58 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 10 overs. The man of the match Atif Aman bagged 3 wickets for 8 runs and Talha Gichki took 2 wickets for 9 runs.

Apart from Arsalan Khan (22 runs), none of BUITEMS Zhob Campus batsmen could play with confidence against the UoT’s bowlers.

Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice Chancellor, UoT, University’s officials, faculty members, and students congratulated their team for the superlative performance with bat and bowl and for qualifying for the second round of the event with the highest points in pool B by winning four matches in a row in the T-10 League.
