Students of Law Faculty completed the internship program at Law Directorate Rawalpindi

As per the HEC syllabus of LLB 5 years, an internship program of six to eight weeks is compulsory for each student. In the fulfillment of this requirement, ten students from the 8th semester (LLB 5-years) of the Faculty of Legal Education were selected for an internship at Law Directorate in Rawalpindi.
The three weeks internship program from 13th June to 1st July 2022 was sponsored and facilitated by the F.C South Balochistan.
The event included lecture sessions by prominent scholars, presentations, and moot courts by the interns.
The students were briefed about the army and its broad organization, the Law Directorate and its mandate understanding the basics of research, lawfare, judicial activism and challenges, defamation laws, introduction to military laws in Pakistan, the law of armed conflict, and international law, legal aspects of Kashmir Issue, lawfare in the Russian- Ukraine Conflict, international law and national security, criminal justice system in Pakistan, corporate law and challenges of corporate governance, vetting of legal documents, promotion in the judicial system of Pakistan, the role of the bar association in the dispensation of justice, and anti-money laundering and counter-terror financing during the internship program.
Besides Islamabad and Kashmir, the interns also visited the army museum and ISPR at Rawalpindi, the Kashmir monument at Muzaffarabad, the Kashmir Institute of Management and Technology, the crossing point between Pak India Border at Titwal and Chakothi, and other prominent places. At the end of the internship program, the students were awarded certificates.
