Faculty of Business and Economics Students Study Visit to Karachi: A Journey of Exploration and Learning

The Faculty of Business and Economics organized two separate industrial visits for senior students from all three departments including Economics, Management Sciences, and Commerce. These enlightening study visits took place in Karachi from the 15th to the 22nd of November 2023. The first visit was supervised by Mr. Bebgar Ghichki, the Head of the Department of Economics, along with dedicated lecturers Mr. Asif Ali and Ms. Zahida Mehrab. The second visit was supervised by respected lecturers: Mr. Chakar Faiz, Ms. Mahjabeen Faqir, and Mr. Munir Ahmed.

The primary objective of the visits was to provide students with practical insights into the dynamic realms of business, finance, and industry. Throughout the visit, the delegation explored distinguished institutions in Karachi, including the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan Stock Exchange, Atlas Honda Limited, and Star Denim Private Ltd. The study visits emerged as resounding successes, offering students invaluable practical insights into the functioning of key institutions within the economic landscape. Beyond broadening their theoretical understanding, the experience inspired students to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr. Waseem Barkat, expresses sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat, for his constant encouragement and unwavering support for such valuable educational initiatives. The Dean also extends thanks to Mr. Badal Khan and Dr. Mushtaq Muhammad, the chairmen of the Department of Management Sciences and Commerce, respectively. Faculty members Dr. Ghulam Jan, Mr. Rematullah, and Mr. Siraj Ahmed from the Department of Management Sciences and Commerce are also acknowledged for their efforts in establishing contact with industries and institutions, and their contributions to facilitating accommodation management were crucial to the success of the industrial visits.
