Sociology’s BoS meeting to align courses with HEC Undergraduate Policy 2023

The 2nd meeting of the Board of Studies for the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Turbat was held on 28th March 2024 in the video conference room, under the chairmanship of Dr. Muhammad Yaseen, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology.
Dr. Naila Usman Siddiqi, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology, University of Karachi, and Dr. Asma Islam, Assistant Professor of Sociology Department, Riphah International University Faisalabad joined the meeting as subject experts. Other members included Ms. Maryam Majeed, Lecturer, Govt Girls Degree College Turbat, Ms. Sahira Haneef, Lecturer, Govt Girls Degree College Gwader, Mr. Mairaj Khalid, Lecturer, Govt Boys Degree College Turbat, and UoT’s faculty members Mr. Nooral Barkat and Mr. Nadil Shah.
In the opening remarks, Dr. Muhammad Yaseen formally welcomed and thanked the members of the board for their active participation in the meeting. The meeting aimed to align the BS Sociology courses with the revised HEC Undergraduate Policy 2023. The Board discussed and resolved various agenda items including the syllabus and course contents for the BS program and AD/ADS program in Sociology. The Subject Experts, Dr. Naila Usman Siddiqi, and Dr. Asma Islam critically evaluated the syllabus and course contents and provided their valuable suggestions and recommendations for further improvement. The Departmental Board of Studies addressed these agenda items and reached fruitful resolutions through extensive deliberations. Notably, the suggestions and recommendations put forward by the expert members were endorsed by all meeting members. In his closing remarks, Dr. Muhammad Yaseen, the Board's Convener, expressed gratitude to all members for their active participation and valuable contributions.
