World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week (18-24 November, 2024) Poster Competition

On the eve of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (18-24 Nov-2024), the Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club University of Turbat (UoT) is conducting a poster competition on ‘‘The Overlapping Crises: Climate Change and the Escalation of the Antimicrobial Resistance’’.

Objectives:

  • Raise awareness about the intersection of climate change and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
  • Encourage interdisciplinary understanding among students.
  • Foster creativity in presenting scientific information.

Participation Guidelines:

  • Students from all departments are invited to participate. 
  • Size and format of posters: 21x27 inches and equal weightage of digital and handmade 
  • Encourage the use of visuals like charts, graphs, and infographics.
  • Limit text to key points for better engagement.

Execution:

  • Begin with an opening talk by an expert on climate change and AMR.
  • Allow students to set up their posters before the event starts.
  • Include a Q&A session where presenters answer questions about their posters.

Incentives:

  • Certificates for all participants.
  • Prizes for three best posters.

Poster Content:

Encourage posters to cover the following:

  • Introduction: Brief explanation of climate change and AMR.
  • Key Linkages: How climate change impacts AMR (infographics can help here).
  • Case Studies: Real-world examples of AMR in climate-stressed regions.
  • Future Challenges: Predicted consequences if the crises remain unaddressed.
  • Call to Action: Solutions and what students can do to make a difference.

  • Event on Thursday, 21st Nov, 2024.
  • Venue: Multipurpose hall.
  • Timing: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm.
