UoT Hosts Seminar on the Role of NAB and Students in Combating Corruption

The University of Turbat (UoT), in collaboration with the National Accountability Bureau (Balochistan), organized a seminar titled "National Accountability Bureau Law: Role, Functions, and Legal Framework along with the Role of Students in the Eradication of Corruption" on January 24, 2025, at the Law Faculty of UoT. The event brought together esteemed guests from NAB, academia, and students to discuss NAB's critical role in promoting accountability and transparency and the importance of student involvement in combating corruption.

The seminar was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of UoT, Dr. Muzaffir Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Law, Ijaz Ahmed, Director Public Relations, UoT, Mehmood Amir, Chairperson, Law Department, and Asif Ali, Assistant Director Public Relations, Information Department.

Speaking on the occasion, Haroon Rasheed, Director NAB (B) Sub Office Gwadar, Khalid Hussain, Special Prosecutor, and Waleed Farman, Assistant Director NAB Sub Office Gwadar, along with UoT’s Vice-Chancellor and Dean Law Faculty highlighted the importance of NAB's role in investigating and prosecuting corruption cases and emphasized the need for students to play an active role in promoting integrity and transparency in society. The seminar provided an engaging platform for students to interact with NAB officials, gaining insights into the bureau’s operations and initiatives. Discussions emphasized the role of legal education in nurturing accountability and the importance of empowering students as future leaders in the fight against corruption.

In his concluding remarks, Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Hassan extended his heartfelt gratitude to the NAB Gwadar team for their commendable efforts and encouraged them to continue conducting such initiatives to strengthen the collaboration between NAB and UoT. He also announced that efforts would be made to integrate NAB laws into the LLB curriculum at the Law Faculty. Dr. Gul Hasan reaffirmed UoT's commitment to raising awareness about social issues, including corruption, and inspiring students to become responsible citizens dedicated to promoting accountability and transparency in society.
