UoT’s Sociology Department Extends a Vibrant Welcome to its Freshers

The Department of Sociology at the University of Turbat (UoT) organized a grand and vibrant welcome program on February 20, 2025, to greet the newly admitted students. The event showcased a remarkable blend of knowledge, art, humor, entertainment, discipline, tradition, and creativity.
The event was held with great enthusiasm and featured a variety of engaging segments, including speeches, tableaus, drama, dance performances, traditional Do-Chaapi, and songs.
The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Dr. Tahir Hakeem graced the occasion as chief guest. He formally welcomed the new students and extended his best wishes for their future. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of education and highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline within the university. He encouraged students to stay dedicated to their academic journey and contribute positively to society through their learning and research. He stated that under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, the University of Turbat is making every effort to provide students with all possible facilities for their academic journey.
Extending a warm welcome to the new batch, the Chairperson of the Department of Sociology Dr. Muhammad Yaseen underscored the importance of sociology as a discipline and how it plays a crucial role in understanding societal structures and dynamics. He also expressed his pride in the department’s achievements, highlighting the remarkable progress the Sociology Department has made in academia and research within a short time since its establishment.
The enthusiastic participation of the faculty members and students, along with the traditional Do-Chaapi, dramas, tableaus, and other creative, and thought-provoking performances presented by the students, made the event truly memorable, and exciting.
