Five-Day IT Skills Development Training Workshop Concludes at the University of Turbat

A five-day IT Skills Development Training Workshop successfully concluded at the University of Turbat (UoT) on May 9, 2025. The workshop, held from May 5 to 9, was organized by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) in collaboration with Riphah International University and IP-Sec.

The workshop focused on specialized training in Game Development and Mobile App Development, providing students with hands-on experience in designing interactive games and developing innovative mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms. The workshop nurtured creativity, enhanced programming skills, and equipped participants with practical skills to develop market-ready digital products.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan highlighted the rising significance of digital skills in today’s interconnected world. He said, “The software industry has become a dominant force in the digital era, and we are dedicated to enhancing our students’ digital capabilities, promoting entrepreneurship, and creating internship and startup opportunities in the IT sector.”

He further said that the University of Turbat is actively engaging with PSEB to establish an IT Park on campus, which will contribute to the region’s technological advancement and youth empowerment. The Vice Chancellor said that, under the vision of the University of Turbat's Chancellor and the Government of Balochistan’s e-Skill Development Program, UoT will enhance digital literacy among the youth and encourage them to pursue opportunities in freelancing and online business.
Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan extended his heartfelt gratitude to PSEB and its partner institutions for organizing such a valuable training program and supporting UoT’s efforts in developing future-ready IT professionals.

Director IT Mr. Sameer Zehri, renowned game developer Mr. Muhammad Afaq Yasin Shah, and expert mobile application developer Mr. Usman Khan also addressed the ceremony and appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants. Students shared their learning experiences, highlighting the practical benefits of the training.
The event was moderated by Director Public Relations, Mr. Ijaz Ahmed, while Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem, and Registrar Mr. Ganguzar Baloch were also present on the occasion.
