Commandant Mekran Scouts Visits UoT, Lauds Academic and Infrastructure Advancements

Commandant Mekran Scouts, Brigadier Omer Tahir, visited the University of Turbat (UoT) on October 7, 2025, and met with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, in his office. The Registrar, Ganguzar Baloch; Director Public Relations, Ijaz Ahmed; and Project Coordinator, Dr. Kamal Baloch, were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor briefed the Commandant on the university’s significant academic and infrastructural progress in a short time. He informed that UoT is offering more than 60 academic programs for the Spring 2026 admissions, designed in line with the evolving demands of job markets. Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan also highlighted the university’s ongoing initiatives aimed at youth engagement, skill development, and promoting national unity and integrity.

Brigadier Omer Tahir commended the Vice Chancellor and his team for their dedicated efforts toward the continued development of the university and its state-of-the-art facilities. He assured his support in providing essential resources, including furniture, computer systems, and the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) laboratory to further strengthen academic and research capacities.

Brigadier Omer Tahir visited various sections of the campus, including the Senate Hall, newly completed, and the under-construction components of Phase-II of the university project, including faculty offices and academic blocks. Project Coordinator Dr. Kamal Baloch briefed the Commandant on the project’s quality standards, financial aspects, and the pace of ongoing civil work.
