Orientation Session on HEC Scholarship Opportunities for Balochistan Students Held at Turbat University

An orientation session on the Higher Education Commission (HEC) scholarship program, titled “Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for Students of Balochistan and Erstwhile FATA (Phase-III)” was held at the University of Turbat (UoT). A large number of students across various departments participated in the session, hosted by UoT’s Directorate of Students Affairs.

Representatives from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), including Mr. Bahram Jan, Project Director of the HEC’s Scholarship Division, and Mr. Muhammad Afzal, briefed students on the application process, eligibility criteria, selection procedures, financial benefits, and other advantages of the fully funded undergraduate scholarship.
They encouraged students to apply for scholarships to pursue studies in various disciplines, including medicine, engineering, law, and social sciences at HEC-recognized universities and degree-awarding institutions nationwide. The HEC team also highlighted other scholarship initiatives aimed at ensuring equitable access to quality higher education for students from less developed regions of the country.

Mr. Bahram Jan addressed students’ queries regarding documentation, timelines, and selection procedures. The session was moderated by the Director Students Affairs, Mr. Chakar Hyder. In his concluding remarks, Mr. Chakar Hyder, on behalf of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, thanked the HEC representatives for visiting Turbat University and sharing valuable information. He appreciated HEC’s continued efforts to promote higher education in Balochistan and reaffirmed UoT’s commitment to promoting educational opportunities for the youth of the region. Director Public Relations, Mr. Ijaz Ahmed, and PSO to Vice Chancellor Mir Bahad also attended the event.
