UoT NABS Students Explore Coastal Ecosystems During Field Visit to Ganz, Gwadar

Students and faculty members from the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences (NABS) at the University of Turbat (UoT) visited Ganz, near Gwadar in Balochistan. The purpose of the visit was to explore coastal ecosystems and collect samples of soil, water, plants, and other materials for practical work in microbiology.

The team was led by Dr. Jahangir Khan, Chairman of the Department, along with faculty member Ms. Zameera.
During the visit, students gained hands-on experience in sampling, handling, and processing microbiological specimens.
According to the university spokesperson, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, and his administration, despite the limited resources, is committed to providing students with practical learning opportunities that bridge the gap between theory and practice through field visits, research activities, and hands-on training, enabling students to apply their academic knowledge in real-life contexts and develop essential scientific and analytical skills.

The spokesperson further added that this field visit helped to enhance the students’ understanding of microbial diversity and ecology through practical exposure.
The students and faculty members expressed their gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, and the university administration for facilitating the visit despite limited resources.
