The students of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences at the University of Turbat (UoT) conducted an educational and research trip on November 22, 2025, to the Kappar coastal area in Tehsil Pasni, Gwadar.

The study visit was supervised by Dr. Jahangir Khan Achakzai, Chairperson of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences, along with faculty members Mr. Jeand Baloch and Mr. Talal Qadir. During the trip, the students collected a wide range of marine samples for research purposes and laboratory analysis. These specimens included sediments, rock samples, jellyfish, seawater, and sea soil.

According to the Department Chairperson, these samples are vital for ongoing research projects in marine biotechnology, environmental science, and sediment analysis. Such studies provide a historical and current view of the marine ecosystem and help students to understand the geochemical composition of the seabed.

According to the university spokesperson, under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, the university administration continues to provide every possible facility to strengthen quality research and modern teaching practices at UoT. The spokesperson further added that despite limited resources, the university is committed to promoting technology-driven learning, market-oriented academic programs, digital skill development, and AI-based education to meet contemporary demands.

Faculty members and students from the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan and the university administration for their consistent support and facilitation for student-centric initiatives. They said that such initiatives not only broaden students' academic exposure but also enhance their practical understanding, confidence, and future career readiness.
