Individualland, Pakistan, and UoT Organize Workshop on Media Literacy and Digital Rights

The Individualland Pakistan, in collaboration with the University of Turbat (UoT), organized a comprehensive Media & Information Literacy training workshop at UoT on November 24-25, 2025, featuring a dedicated session on Digital Rights, Responsibilities, and Ethical Media Practices. Students from different departments participated in the event. The training highlighted the importance of protecting personal data, practicing responsible online behavior, and ensuring ethical use of media in today’s interconnected world. Participants actively contributed to the discussions, reflecting their keen interest in understanding how to stay safe, respectful, and ethical in the digital environment.

Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. In his remarks, Dr. Gul Hasan extended his appreciation to Individualland Pakistan for collaborating with the university to arrange this vital training.
He said that in an age of information overload and rapid digital transformation, it is imperative for students to understand their digital rights and develop the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate media platforms responsibly.

UoT faculty members Ms. Saba Adam and Ms. Mahnaz Basheer served as the resource persons for the workshop, while Mr. Salman Baloch from the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) served as the focal person for the event.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, accompanied by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Kamal Ahmed, Registrar Mr. Ganguzar Baloch, Director Public Relations Mr. Ijaz Ahmed, Individualland representative Mr. Azmatullah Kakar, and the resource persons, distributed certificates among the participants.
