Turbat University Staff Participate in a Five-Day Capacity Building Training on Open & Distance Learning

Faculty members and administrative staff from the University of Turbat (UoT) participated in a five-day Capacity Building Training on Open and Distance Learning (ODL) held at Iqra University, Karachi, from December 1-5, 2025.

The training was jointly organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), and the Virtual University (VU) of Pakistan to strengthen the ODL system in Pakistan.

UoT participants, including faculty members Mr. Rehmatullah, Ms. Mahnaz Bashir, Ms. Zahida Mehrab, and administrative staff member Mr. Noman Shakeel, actively engaged in interactive sessions, discussions, and hands-on exercises aimed at enhancing institutional readiness for ODL implementation.

Highly qualified experts from various renowned institutions served as resource persons during the training sessions.

The concluding session and certificate distribution ceremony were graced by distinguished officials, including Mr. Nazir Hussain, Director General HRM, HEC, Mr. Nasir Shah, Director General QAA, HEC, Mr. Suleman Ahmed, Director General Regional, HEC, and the Registrar of Iqra University, Karachi.


Appreciating the efforts of the resource persons and organizers in conducting such an impactful and effective training, UoT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan expressed hope that the knowledge and skills gained by UoT’s participants will significantly contribute to promoting flexible, technology-driven, and high-quality learning opportunities for students in the region.
