Turbat University Reaffirms Commitment to Academic Excellence Through Successful MPhil Theses Defenses

The University of Turbat (UoT) reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and research advancement through the successful defense of MPhil and MS theses across various disciplines.

According to the university spokesperson, six MPhil scholars from the Institute of Balochi Language and Culture (IBLC) successfully defended their MPhil theses on December 15 and 16, 2025. The viva voce examinations were evaluated by external examiners Dr. Abdul Razzaq (AR) Dad, Assistant Professor, University of Balochistan, Quetta, and Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Assistant Professor, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, who joined the proceedings via Zoom. The research work was completed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch (TI), Dean, Faculty of Literature and Languages, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, and IBLC faculty members, including Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Shad, Dr. Abdul Rauf Raz, and Dr. Muhammad Sharif Mir.

Earlier, Mr. Yousuf Wahag, an MS scholar from the Department of Management Sciences, successfully defended his MS theses on December 1, 2025. His research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Tahir Badini, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Sciences, University of Turbat. The viva voce examination was assessed by Dr. Nadir Khan, Assistant Professor, Institute of Management Sciences, University of Balochistan, Quetta, who participated as the external examiner via video link.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Waseem Barkat, Director of Graduate Studies, stated that under the dynamic leadership of the Vice Chancellor, prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, the University of Turbat remains committed to promoting quality research and strengthening higher education in the region.
