Turbat University Vice-Chancellor Meets Provincial Finance Minister, Seeks Support for Faculty and Administrative Staff Recruitment

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, held an important meeting with the Provincial Minister for Finance, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, in Quetta on September 21, 2026. Additional Secretary Finance, Hafiz Muhammad Qasim, was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, key operational challenges were discussed, including the university's financial constraints, preparations for the upcoming University Finance Commission meeting, and other administrative and academic issues caused by shortage of senior faculty and key statutory and senior administrative positions.
Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan requested the Finance Minister's support in securing approval to sanction, advertise, and fill senior faculty, statutory, and administrative positions at the University.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that filling these positions is vital not only for the purpose of accreditation of various programs from regulatory bodies and professional councils, but also to achieve the core objectives of the university's Strategic Plan 2030. He said that statutory positions have already been advertised and candidate shortlisting has concluded, with subsequent selection steps progressing in strict compliance with prescribed rules and legal frameworks.
Dr. Gul Hasan added that the university administration has submitted the requisition for filling vacant academic and administrative positions to the Department of Colleges, Higher and Technical Education, Government of Balochistan, which has now been submitted to the University Finance Commission for final approval.
In response, Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani assured the Vice-Chancellor of the Government of Balochistan’s full cooperation in resolving the university’s pending issues and expediting recruitment approval.
