Turbat University Vice-Chancellor Meets Governor Balochistan, Focuses on Modern Academic Programs and Institutional Growth

Turbat (September 21, 2026) The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, called on Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail at Governor House Quetta, today.
The meeting focused on higher education progress and strategic challenges across Balochistan, with particular emphasis on universities in the South Balochistan.
Emphasizing the transformative role of higher education leadership, Governor Mandokhail said, "Our primary goal is to empower youth to secure their futures while driving national progress. A Vice-Chancellor is more than an institutional leader, they are key to shaping future leaders, advancing innovation, and steering society’s intellectual direction.
The Governor directed both institutions to align their curricula and research priorities with regional economic demands. He urged the universities to prepare students for market-driven sectors, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, the Blue Economy, Coastal Belt Management, Marine Sciences, Fisheries, Tourism, and Health Sciences.
Briefing the Governor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan highlighted UoT's forward-looking academic vision, informing him of new technology-centric degree programs launching from the 2027 academic year, alongside ongoing certificate and diploma courses in IT and digital skills aimed at bridging the region's technological gap.
Governor Mandokhail reaffirmed his commitment to resolving key academic, financial, and administrative challenges facing UoT, assuring full support in expediting approvals for sanctioning and filling vacant senior faculty, statutory, and administrative positions to ensure smooth operations and academic excellence.
Prior to this meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan had also met with Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani to seek government support in addressing the university's financial and recruitment challenges concerning senior faculty and statutory positions.
