Helping Hands and University of Turbat Honor Teachers on World Teachers' Day

Helping Hands for Relief and Development, in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs, University of Turbat (UoT), organized a ceremony on October 7, 2026, to mark World Teachers' Day. Representatives of Helping Hands, UoT faculty members, and teachers and heads of various colleges and schools attended the event.

Speakers, including Dr. Ghulam Jan, Chairman of the Management Sciences Department, Ms. Ruqia Mirwani, Chairperson of the Education Department, and Ghulam Azam Dashti and others of Helping Hands, paid tribute to teachers for inspiring curiosity, nurturing potential, and shaping future leaders. They said teachers' dedication extends far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impact on students and society.

In his message, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan expressed gratitude to teachers for their continuous efforts in shaping students' academic and professional journeys. Acknowledging faculty contributions to the university's progress, he said, "As a teacher, I believe that providing timely career development opportunities is a fundamental right of faculty members." He added that convening Selection Boards for the appointment of senior faculty and promotion of administrative staff is among the university's foremost priorities.

According to university spokespersons, the Vice Chancellor said the university administration is making every effort to fill senior faculty and statutory positions, which are essential for achieving the targets of the UoT Strategic Plan 2026-30. 

At the end of the event, shields, gifts, and plants were presented to teachers in recognition of their services to society.
