VC UoT visit to Kunming China

Vice Chancellor University of Turbat Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir leading a two member literary delegation from Pakistan participated in an International Conference on the title “New Silk Road of Literature: Cultural Tradition and Social Development, held in historical city of Kunming in Yunnan province of China from 18-22 September 2016.
Besides co-chairing the first session of the conference, the VC UoT presented his research paper on “Cultural Diversity in Pakistan”. During the visit he interacted with Chinese writers coming from different provinces of country.The writers and intellectuals across China and Nepal also represented their papers in seminar. While co-chairing the seminar VC UoT brought into an account the detail on cultural diversity in Pakistan emphasizing on the role of Asian countries in the development of Asian literature. In his inaugural speech he informed the participants about the University of Turbat and its sub campus at Gwadar: the future University of Gwadar and its role to provide skilled manpower for the CPEC. Dr. Sabir proposed the idea that Pakistan Academy of Letters and Chinese writers can organize a literary conference at Gwadar in near future. Besides attending the conference Vice Chancellor University of Turbat visited different Universities including Yunnan University Kunming, University of Science and Technology Kunming and Normal University Kunming China, where he shared his views with intellectuals and researchers on variety of subjects including Cultural diversity and Archeological depth of Balochistan. A MoU is expected to be signed between Yunnan University Kunming China and UoT regarding exchange of faculty and students, provision of Chinese scholarships to the faculty and students of UoT. The Yunnan University will also provide services of Chinese faculty to teach Chinese language at UoT campus Gwadar.
