Turbat University Holds 3rd Senate Meeting

The UoT’s 3rd meeting of the Senate presided over by the Honorable Governor Balochistan and Chancellor Turbat University Muhammad Khan Achakzai, was held at Governor’s House Quetta on April 19, 2018. The meeting was attended by varsity Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Mr Sajjad Ahmed Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr Qamar Masood Secretary Finance GoB, Mr. Muhammad Farooq Addl Secretary H.E & Colleges GoB, Prof Ghulam Rasool Khalid Ex-Director Colleges Balochistan, Eng. M Usman Associate Prof BUET Khuzdar, Dr Zeenat Sana Dean Faculty of Languages UoB, Prof Dr. Munir Ahmed Acting Dean Faculty of Commerce, Law and Business Administration UoT, Dr Gul Hassan Director QEC, Registrar UoT Dr Hanif Rahman, Director Finance Ghulam Farooq,  Ex Chairperson Economics Miss Samina Faqir, Lecturer Management Sciences Mr Mumtaz Ahmed and Representative of UoT Alumni Ms Seema Waris.

Speaking on the occasion Chairman Senate said that “we should adopt modern technology for development and prosperity because outdated techniques and approaches in higher education institutions cannot help us to stand at par with developed countries.” He said that in this fast changing world the technology of 19th and 20th century could hardly meet the needs of the people in 21st century.
Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai said that teachers are the role model for the students, besides teaching they should also concentrate on personality and character building of their students.

After the detail deliberations and discussion on several agenda items, various decisions were taken for academic development and financial stability of the university.

The senate has also resolved to start new departments and faculty in the university to meet the changing requirements of the time.
Earlier, the VC UoT Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir in the annual report informed the senate about the success story and progress of the university in the year 2017 saying his institution would leave no stone unturned for the promotion of academic and research culture in the university.
The apex house has also accorded approval of minutes of the meetings of various statuary bodies of the university held previously.
