Motorway Police organized seminar on “Road Safety” at UoT Gwadar Campus

National Highways & Motorways Police (NH&MP) West Zone Sector-10 conducted a seminar to raise awareness about “Road Safety & Traffic Laws” in Gwadar Campus of Turbat University on 24th January 2019.
The seminar discussed ideas to improve road safety and raising public awareness towards transportation safety in the Balochistan.
The chief guest Shahab Azeem Lehri Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Mekran Region while addressing the seminar said keeping in the view traffic laws we can save many precious human lives and it is our obligation to drive carefully.
While appreciating the collaboration of the UoT Gwadar Campus in organizing this event to address such a noble cause, the Commander sector-10 NH&MP Rao Hassanat pointed that every individual must play his/her role in order to achieve the goal of safer roads in future. They further said that over speeding, overloading, unawareness of rules and negligence on part of parents are some of the leading causes of road crashes. They said “Using mobile phones during the drive causes loss of human life and youth who are the 50 percent of the country`s population do not follow the traffic laws” they appealed to the student to make your habit to wear helmets while riding a motor bike which can protect your life in any misshape.
Director Turbat University Gwadar Campus Ijaz Ahmed Baloch and DSP Motorway Police Gwadar Jalal Ahmed also spoke at the occasion. The speakers stressed and explained the current state of the road safety nationally and locally. The seminar was attended by the large number of students and faculty members. Director Campus thanked Motorways Police for organizing awareness seminar in campus and distribution helmets among students.
At the end of the seminar the chief gust and other speakers distributed helmets among the students. Meanwhile the Sector Commander Motorway presented the souvenir to the DIG Police Mekran Zone and Director Gwadar Campus. On behalf of VC UoT Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, the campus director also presented the shield of the university to the guests.
