Cheque distribution ceremony under Ehsaas Scholarships in UoT

Vice Chancellor University of Turbat Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that Prime Minister Pakistan Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program is the largest scholarship project in the history of the country for the students from low-income families. Apart from the students of the University of Turbat, thousands of students studying in undergraduate programs in the universities across the country are being benefitted from this sizable scholarship project.

He expressed these views while addressing to the cheque distribution ceremony under Prime Minister Pakistan Ehsaas undergraduate Scholarship Program held in the video conferencing hall of Turbat University on 18th August 2020.

The ceremony was also attended by UoT’s Registrar Ghulam Farooq, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science and Director Institute of Balochi Language and Culture (IBLC)Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor, Director Finance Shabeek Syed, Director Student Scholarships and Financial Aid Office Abdul Jabbar, Director UoT’s Gwadar Campus Ijaz Ahmed, PSO to Vice Chancellor Eng, Bilal Ur Rahman, Deputy Registrar Ganguzar Baloch, Ganj Bakhsh Assistant Financial Aid Office, faculty members and students.

Vice Chancellor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan's decision to provide scholarships to the talented students from low-income families to pursue higher education was a revolutionary step toward promotion higher education in the country general, in the remote areas in particular.

He said that it was very hard for the students from low income families of remote areas like Mekran to pursue higher education without scholarship. He hoped that that the recipients of Ehsaas Scholarship would play an important role in the development and prosperity of their family and country.

Highlighting the objectives of the Prime Minster Pakistan Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program, Director Students Financial Aid Office Abdul Jabbar said that more than 650 deserving and talented students of main campus Turbat and Gwadar campus are being awarded scholarships under this project in its first phase and second phase will be stated very soon. He said that Ehsaas scholarship is a fully-funded program, which not only covers tuition fees but also a monthly stipend will also be provided to the recipient of the scholarship.

At the end Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Ghulam Farooq, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor and Shabeek Syed distributed the scholarship cheques among the students.
