Governor Balochistan lauds development of Turbat University in short time

The Governor of Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmad Agha was briefed on the academic and financial progress and infrastructural development of the University of Turbat (UoT) by a delegation of UoT led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad here at Governor House in Quetta on 20th August 2021. The delegation was also included Dean Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Director ORIC, Dr. Ghulam Jan, Director UoT’s Gwadar campus, Ijaz Ahmed, PSO to Vice-Chancellor, Chaker Hyder, and Assistant Registrar UoT’s Panjgur campus Aftaf Aslam. The Principal Secretary to Governor Shahnawaz Ali was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of Balochistan said that it was imperative to understand the role of highly educated women in the sustainable development and prosperity of the country and nation. The large number of female students at the University of Turbat proves that the women of Balochistan are second to none in talent. Appreciating the tireless efforts of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat and his entire team, he said that it was certainly commendable that despite being in a remote area of the province and with limited resources, the University of Turbat was on the path of development in a short span of time.

The Governor of Balochistan directed that the power system of the entire university should be transferred to the solar system as soon as possible. He said that “making higher education accessible for the students of remote areas like Mekran and its adjacent areas is an encouraging step which ensures that the future prospects of the country and the province are bright.” The Governor of Balochistan assured to take all-out efforts for providing necessary facilities to the university and resolving the problems faced by the university and its sub-campuses at Gwadar and Panjgur. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad earlier informed the Governor that the university has planned to promote modern education by paying more attention towards innovation, research, and modern technology in order to impart quality education to the students of the university according to the requirements of the time.
