Training session on “Peace, Tolerance and Inclusivity” held at Turbat University

A training session for faculty on “Peace, Tolerance and Inclusivity” was held in the video conference room of the University of Turbat (UoT) on 18th November 2022. The session was organized by Peace Advocacy Club University of Turbat (PACUT) in collaboration with Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness. Shaoor Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working for promotion of peace and education in Pakistan. The training was a part of the series of sessions being held under the Project for Peace Advocacy and Community Engagement through Transformation (PACT) launched by Shaoor Foundation. The participants of the session discussed the importance of peace, tolerance and inclusivity in human life in general and campus health in particular. The significance of gender-equality was also thoroughly deliberated and the role of women as mother, spouse, sibling, teacher, doctor and so forth was categorical emphasized and acknowledged by the participants. Speaking on the occasion, the trainer of the program and In-charge Peace Advocacy Club UoT, Changiz Ahmed, Assistant Professor Political Science Department, emphasized the significance of diversity and acceptance of differences, whether religious, ethnic or linguistic for a healthy and progressive society. He further expressed that these differences are to be accepted as a reality and a part of the creation plan of the nature, as people are born with different qualities, thinking and habits. He added that these differences lead towards a more inclusive and tolerant society.  The program ended with a vote of thanks to the participants by the trainer.
