UoT's Board of Faculty of Social Sciences Approves to Introduce New Academic Programs

The second Board of Faculty meeting of the Faculty of Social Sciences was held on August 15, 2025, at the University of Turbat (UoT).

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

During the session, the minutes of the Departmental Boards of Studies for the Departments of Political Science, Sociology, and Education were presented, reviewed, and formally approved.

The meeting also addressed various academic matters concerning the development and progress of each teaching department, resolving key issues to enhance academic standards.

Significantly, the Board approved the launch of several new academic programs, including M.Phil in Sociology, M.Phil in Political Science, Associate Degree in International Relations, Associate Degree in Social Work, and Associate Degree in Development Studies.

Each department’s chairperson provided a comprehensive overview of their respective departmental activities, challenges, and readiness for the fall semester 2025 and the new academic year 2026.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem emphasized the importance of academic excellence at the university. He urged to work collectively toward promoting quality education across all disciplines.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Muzaffir Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Law; Dr. Muhammad Yasin, Chairman, Department of Sociology, Dr. Mahnaz Aslam, Chairperson, Department of Education, Mr. Changiz Ahmed, Chairman, Department of Political Science, Mr. Bahadin, Lecturer, Department of Political Science, and Mr. Jeand Ibrahim, Lecturer, Department of Natural and Basic Sciences.
