Vice-Chancellor thanks Governor Balochistan for visiting the University of Turbat

Vice-Chancellor, University of Turbat (UoT) expressed his gratitude to the Chancellor, PSUs, and Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar for his visit to the University of Turbat. Vice-Chancellor marked the inauguration of the data center and the first phase of the 1000 KW solar project by Governor Balochistan as important milestones in the university's journey for promoting higher education in this part of the country. He also expressed his gratitude for the Governor’s support and devotion in accelerating the pace of development of the University of Turbat. Appreciating the valuable efforts of Governor Balochistan in making the solar project a reality at the University of Turbat, Vice-Chancellor said that the execution of the solar system is a part of the university’s efforts toward financial sustainability and aligns with the government's vision of promoting clean and renewable energy solutions across the country.

Vice-Chancellor said that multiple projects with a cost of near to Rs. 2 billion are being executed at the university. The completion of these projects would help to solve the problems of the university and open new academic programs. He announced organizing a literary and cultural festival and sports event at the University of Turbat at the end of this year.

It is to recall that Balochistan’s Governor, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar paid a visit to the University of Turbat on 8th June 2023. Besides inaugurating various projects, he interacted with faculty, administrative officers, and students.

 During interactive sessions, Governor Balochistan hailed the efforts of the faculty members and administrative staff under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor in promoting quality education and research activities in the university. He also lauded the university's commitment and initiatives to making the institution financially self-reliant and sustainable.

He ruled out any political interference in the affairs of the universities and emphasized ensuring merit and financial discipline for the further growth of the universities.

He emphasized the importance of creating an environment in our educational institutions that encourages innovation and entrepreneurial approaches because the purpose of acquiring education should not be only to get a job but we should adopt modern technology to move forward in this competitive world.
