Laptop distribution ceremony under PM’s Youth Laptop Scheme

Laptops have been distributed among the students of the University of Turbat (UoT) under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme Phase-III. The inaugural ceremony of laptop distribution was held at the video conference room of UoT on November 23, 2023, which was presided over by Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Languages, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Waseem Barkat, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr. Adeel Ahmed, Dean of Academics, Ganguzar Baloch, Registrar, Dr. Abdul Majid Nasir, Controller of Examinations, Zubair Ahmed, Representative of the Higher Education (HEC), directors, heads of various academic and administrative department, faculty members and students.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Jan Muhammad urged laptop recipients to utilize the laptop as a tool to enhance their academic, research, and technology skills, which can lead their future endeavors toward prosperity.  Underscoring the importance of technology in education and daily life, the Vice Chancellor said that students have huge responsibilities on their shoulders in this rapidly changing scenario in the field of Information Technology, and they should equip themselves with digital skills effectively, which is the need of modern times. He emphasized students should pay full attention to their studies and play their role in the development of Balochistan and the country.

 The Vice-Chancellor clarified that the selection of students for laptops was made by the HEC in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the HEC.

Highlighting the objective of the laptop scheme, Mr. Bilal Ur Rahman, focal person of PM’s Laptop Scheme at UoT said that more than 1300 laptops will be distributed among the UoT’s students selected by the HEC.

The Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, deans, directors, and heads of various departments distributed laptops among the students.
