The University of Turbat observes International Zero Waste Day

The Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, University of Turbat (UoT) organized an awareness session on zero waste policy and practices on 29th March 2024 to observe the International Day of Zero Waste, which is celebrated globally on 30th March every year.

It’s a day that challenges humanity to confront the mountains of waste we generate, emphasizing the need for comprehensive and innovative strategies to mitigate this growing crisis.

The session included informative talks by students and faculty members. Recorded videos of the faculty members were also played during the session to raise awareness and foster collective action to contribute to the broader goal of creating a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. The speakers highlighted the objective of the session and sensitivity regarding environmental challenges and the zero-waste concept, motivating them to adopt the 5Rs (Reduce; Reuse; Recycle; Rot-Compost; Raise Awareness of zero-waste practices to minimize the generation of waste at the University of Turbat. They also talked about waste reduction, encouraging sustainable consumption habits, and promoting environmental conservation.
