VC UoT meets Governor Balochistan

An important meeting was held between Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar, Governor Balochistan, and Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice Chancellor, University of Turbat, at the Governor's House in Quetta on the 15th of April 2024. The vice-chancellors of other public sector universities in Balochistan also met with Governor Balochistan.

During the meeting, Dr. Jan Muhammad briefed the Governor on the current financial status of the University of Turbat and highlighted achievements, academic and infrastructure progress, and challenges of his University.

Governor Balochistan emphasized the need for all public sector universities in Balochistan to take concrete steps towards achieving self-sustainability and academic progress. He said we all have great responsibilities to provide a new vision of the future through consultation with all stakeholders to make our higher education institutions stable and self-sufficient. The Governor directed all vice-chancellors to ensure merit-based appointments and promotions, as well as to monitor classes during academic activities.

Governor Balochistan unequivocally stated that ambitious goals can be accomplished with strong determination. He emphasized the necessity of setting aside petty personal interests and moving forward with a national and collective approach.

He underscored that universities are not merely educational and research institutions, but are deeply connected with the lives of our future generations, therefore, he emphasized the formulation of a comprehensive strategy to determine our national priorities and resolve the financial, administrative, and academic issues of the universities permanently. The Governor assured his commitment to playing his role in resolving the financial issues of all universities.

Dr. Jan Muhammad expressed gratitude to Governor Balochistan for his keen interest in resolving the universities' issues.
