IBLC commemorates Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi, a renowned writer and poet of the Balochi Language

The Institute of Balochi Language and Culture (IBLC), University of Turbat (UoT) organized a literary event and a musical program on April 22, 2024, in the honor of late Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi, a renowned writer and poet of Baloch language. Former Senator Muhammad Akram Dashti, members of civil society, educationists, business community, faculty members, and people from all walks of life attended the remembrance. The panel discussion was moderated by Sadiq Saba, a faculty member of IBLC and the discussants were Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean Faculty of Literature and Languages, Dr. Raheem Mehr, Controller of Examinations, University of Gwadar, and Dr. Ghafoor Shad, Assistant Prof. at IBLC who shed light on various aspects of Syed Hashmi's life, poetry, and literary works. The event concluded with a musical program featuring Syed Hashmi's poetry. The audience was entertained by famous Balochi singers Arif Baloch and Shah Jahan Dawoodi. In his closing remarks, Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch extended gratitude to Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice Chancellor UoT, faculty members, University administration, participants, distinguished guests, and panelists for their contributions and participation in the memorial event
