UoT Affiliation Committee Focuses on Improving Academic Standards

On 20^th September 2024, the 4^th meeting of the Affiliation Committee of the University of Turbat (UoT), chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor, Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Languages, focused on enhancing academic standards and strengthening coordination with affiliated colleges.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Gunguzar, Registrar, Dr. Adeel Ahmed, Dean Graduate Studies; Dr. Abdul Majid Nasir, Controller of Examinations, Mr. Adil Khan, Director Graduate Studies, and Ms. Ruqia Mirwani, Lecturer in the Education Department.

In his welcome note, Dr. Abdul Saboor emphasized the importance of conducting meetings of the Affiliation Committee at regular intervals to strengthen the coordination between UoT and its affiliated colleges to move forward. He reiterated the university's commitment to maintaining strong coordination with the Education Department, Government of Balochistan, and affiliated colleges for the transition from the annual to the semester system, the need to address shortages of facilities and update SOPs in laboratories. He also informed the committee that a letter had already been sent to the Education Department regarding these matters.

The meeting discussed and resolved several matters, including the programs offered in affiliated colleges, affiliation fees, the availability of qualified faculty for various programs, accreditation criteria and procedures for affiliated programs, curriculum development, regular visits to affiliated colleges, the use of proper communication channels with affiliated colleges, adherence to prescribed standards for launching new programs, and the completion of all relevant documents related to the affiliation process.

It was decided that the next meeting of the Affiliation Committee would be held on 25^th September 2024. Dr. Abdul Saboor concluded the meeting by expressing his gratitude to the committee members for their active participation.
