Governor calls for quality education reforms in Balochistan

Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, presiding over the Vice Chancellors' Conference at the Governor House on December 6, 2024, underscored the urgent need for action-oriented leadership to enhance the quality of education in public sector universities. As Chancellor, he reaffirmed his commitment to fostering sustainable progress and implementing a robust monitoring mechanism to achieve shared educational goals.
Addressing vice-chancellors, pro-vice chancellors, Higher Education Commission representatives, and other officials, the governor emphasized the significance of innovation, disciplined leadership, and financial self-reliance for universities. He urged universities to identify new income sources, reduce unnecessary expenditures, and submit written reports on financial challenges to the Chancellor's Office.
Governor Mandokhail stated " It is our collective responsibility to resolve financial, administrative, and academic issues with a comprehensive strategy. No compromise will be made on quality, and vice chancellors' performance will be evaluated based on quality improvements."
He expressed optimism that the conference had laid the groundwork for a brighter future, pledging both federal and provincial support to ensure the success of these initiatives. He added.
"We have charted a new vision for higher education institutions, and practical steps will soon yield positive outcomes."
The governor concluded by highlighting the critical role universities play in nation-building and reaffirming his commitment to effectively addressing challenges to promote excellence in higher education.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, along with the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, represented the University of Turbat at the conference.
