University of Turbat and NCHD Sign MoU to Promote Literacy and Human Development

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) and the University of Turbat (UoT) to strengthen collaboration on various initiatives, including the “Each One Teach One” literacy campaign and other programs aimed at advancing education and human development. This initiative falls under the Prime Minister’s Directives on Education Emergency 2024.

The signing ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, University of Turbat, on August 21, 2025. The MoU was signed by Mr. Ganguzar Baloch, Registrar, UoT, and Mr. Muhammad Afzal, Deputy Director, NCHD. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Ijaz Ahmed, Director Public Relations, UoT, Mr. Abdul Salam, Assistant Director Literacy, Kech, and Mr. Ijaz Ahmed, Field Officer, NCHD.
Under the MoU, NCHD will provide technical support to UoT in implementing literacy initiatives and related programs. The partnership also aims to create opportunities for skill development, internships, and employment for UoT graduates. Both institutions will collaborate in the exchange of publications, organization of workshops and conferences, joint research projects, and in promoting volunteerism and community engagement among students and staff.

According to the agreement, UoT and NCHD will work together in planning, development, execution, and consultancy of projects that contribute to education, social uplift, and economic development, with a particular focus on improving human development indicators in Pakistan.
It is important to note that the 17th meeting of the Academic Council of the University of Turbat, held on August 19, 2025, under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, endorsed the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Literacy Program, Each One Teaches One.
