UoT Student Secures First Prize for Women’s Safety Initiative at National Youth Summit 2026

Ms. Fatima Nazeer, a talented student from the Law Department of the University of Turbat (UoT), secured first prize in the Business Pitch Competition at the National Youth Summit 2026, held in Gwadar from April 7 to 9, 2026. The summit, organized by the Government of Balochistan, brought together over 300 young delegates from across Pakistan who participated in various competitions and activities.

Fatima Nazeer, who also serves as General Secretary of the Youth and Peace Development Corps (YPDC) UoT Chapter, earned recognition for her innovative proposal to establish a specialized institution focused on women’s safety, self-defense, and legal literacy.  The judges appreciated her innovative proposal for its practical approach and its potential to improve access to legal knowledge for women in the region.

Vice Chancellor UoT, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, along with Dean Faculty of Law, Dr. Muzaffir Hussain, faculty members, administrative staff, and event organizers and participants, congratulated her on this outstanding achievement and termed it a proud moment for the University of Turbat. The Vice Chancellor remarked that the success reflects the university’s growing presence at national platforms and highlights the potential of its students to contribute meaningfully to society. He said that Fatima’s innovative project is a significant step toward the establishment of the first institution of its kind in the province.

He emphasized that the University of Turbat, through its Directorate of Student Affairs under the leadership of Mr. Chakar Haider, with the active support of faculty members, continues to promote student engagement and leadership development initiatives. As a result, UoT students are increasingly making their mark at national forums and contributing to positive social change in Balochistan.
